I have been struggling to import my 7-year messages from Thunderbird (TB) to Mail on OS X 10.6.2, the latest on 22 March 2010. The old well-known tools have couple of issues:
Eudora Mailbox Cleaner (EMC) successfully splits TB mbox into emlx without any problem.
Mail import function does not splits TB mbox correctly. Sometimes more than 2 emails are combined.
EMC seems the best solution in this sense, however, Mail could not rebuild the split emlx files into its database. So, you will see the correct folder structure without any real messages.
My study for the last weekend finally solved the issues. If you are willing to import emails from TB to Mail, this seemingly-complex process below is worth to try.
Evernote has been well-known note software in multiple platform, except Linux. So, many Linux users has emulated its XP version over Wine.
Unfortunately, Wine does not support the latest Evernote 3.5 in Window version. Worse, Evernote 3.1 could not present any of my Korean or Japanese characters. Reflecting why I need Evernote installed on my Ubuntu machine, I have concluded that I really need to jot quick notes and share them over every machine. Those who have these reasons in mind would like what I have found today below.

My old and sluggish TravelMate 630 (632XCi) from Acer has its legacy VGA, GeForce2 Go NVIDIA. There has been a blog, or more like a fancy rumor, that a Linuxer has succeeded to use compiz in Ubuntu 7.4. Encouraged by the fancy story, I have tried it very hard to enable compiz in my old machine. However, it turned out that I spent my time for nothing.
In the latest Ubuntu 9.10 and its updates by today (26 Sep 2009), I could see some bright light. It is likely that compiz has been fixed to work fine with my TM630 at last! Still, the system is not stable and freezes as if XP does with blue screens.
I am now quite positive about how Ubuntu 9.10 would enhance my life with this old machine. I am looking forward to its stable version.
The fastest web browser has its weakness. When you middle-click on a URL link to open its new tab, the mother site goes backward. That means you mess up what you are browsing. I was surprised to see that the Opera team still has not fixed this tedious error over their 10th version. Here comes how to fix it. Type below in a terminal window.
As OS means a commercial/free software that actually operates our PC, it is absurd to pay additional money for anti-virus software after installing any. Worse, we sometimes pay annually for Norton, etc. In the sense, here comes the best thing about Ubuntu: It actually prevent my precious data against virus for free of charge! If you use your home computer and occasionally leave it before 9 am, the cron script below will save you much time to even think about updating your security. First type below in a terminal.
Every 9 am, this command will update online DB of the software installed in your Ubuntu machine, update some of them, clean any unused files, and subsequently shutdown your machine.
For example, my legacy laptop benefits much from this automatic update, because the occasional update slows down my Ubuntu. Every evening I come back home, my old slow machine is already updated up-to-date and secure.
XP 의 서비스 팩 3로 오면서 개선된 것이 원격 접속으로 XP를 사용할 때도 ClearType 글꼴 쓸 수 있다는 것이다. 즉, 나 처럼 우분투에서 rdesktop 으로 XP를 사용하는 사람들에게는 그동안 딱딱한 XP 글꼴에서 오는 심미적 고충을 조금 줄일수 있다.
방법으로 XP 사용자들은 서비스스팩3로 업그레이드 해야 한다. 두번째로는 아래의 레지스트리를 만들어 서버로 접속하는 xp 컴퓨터에서 병합시킨다.

I am using a legacy Acer TravelMate 630 laptop. Yes, this is a so old model that any Linux distribution is no more willing to support its VGA driver.

Then you will see that Ubuntu 9.4 recommends you to enable the NVIDIA driver (version 96).

쉽게 말해서, 피씨에 저장되어 있던 암호를 해킹해서 본 게 아닐까요? 즉, 아웃룩이나 썬더 버드 혹은 파이어폭스나 크롬 같은 것을 사용했다면, 지메일 암호가 남아있었을 테고, 구글 본사에 물어볼 필요도 없이 경찰이 손에 쥐어진 암호로 로그인 했다면 쉽게 메일 내용을 열람했을 것으로 생각됩니다.
특히, 그 범인의 메일 계정이 2개 였다 라고 밝혀 낸 점은 실명 확인이 안되는 구글에서 밝혀 내기 힘든 사실이잖아요. 그 사람 컴퓨터에서 지메일 계정이 2세트임을 밝혀냈다는 게 더 신빙성이 있어 보입니다.
그래서 저도 파이어 폭스의 옵션 부분을 살펴보았습니다만, 암호 보기를 하면 그냥 줄줄 다 나오네요. 이렇게 저의 귀중한 암호들을 한곳에 감히 모아서 본 것도 처음인 것 같습니다.
마지막으로, 개인 사생활 보호에 신경을 쓰고 싶으신 분들은 파이어 폭스 자체에도 암호를 걸어 놓는 수 밖에는 없어 보입니다. 그 수많은 사이트 암호들을 다 외우고 다닐 수는 없잖아요.

고스트 비스무레 한 어플을 소개하겠습니다. Macrium Reflect Free Edition 이라고 하는 무료 파티션 백업 어플입니다. 파일도 아니고 파티션을 통째로 백업해서 어따 써먹냐고 물으시는 분도 계실 것 같은데요. 윈도우를 자주 미는 분들은 모두 동감하실 텐데, 컴퓨터가 느려졌다 싶으면 돌아가기 위해서 당시 가장 최적화된 상태를 파일로 기억해 놓는 것을 말합니다. 응용 예로는 피씨방에 있는 컴퓨터들을 동일하게 설치할 때 사용할 수도 있고, 일반인의 경우 바이러스 대비 효과도 있지요.
전부터 널리 알려진 것중에는 고스트가 있습니다만, SATA 하드를 지원하지 못해서 문제가 생기기도 한다네요. 저도 친구 컴퓨터 한번 날려버린적이 있습니다. 오늘 소개할 어플은 그런 걱정도 없이 아주 최신의 하드도 지원합니다.
인터페이스가 직관적이라 왼쪽의 큼직한 단추들만 주의깊게 보시면 됩니다.
[백업] 기술이 좋아 진 것인지, 재부팅없이 윈도우 상에서 바로 파티션을 외장하드로 백업할 수 있습니다. 저의 펜티엄 4 구형 컴퓨터에서 2.5 기가 압축하는데 24분정도 걸렸으니 속도는 나쁘지 않다고 생각합니다. 용량은 약 절반.
[복구] 이건 시스템을 새로 밀어야 하기 때문에 윈도우를 나가야 합니다. 그 전에 이 프로그램 상에서 USB나 CD에 시동 디스켓을 만듭니다. ISO 이미지를 따로 저장해서 USB 부팅을 하는 게 더 편하더라고요. 이걸로 다시 부팅하면 딱, 복구에 관한 창만 나와서 "소스"랑 "타겟"만 잘 골라주면 쉽게 복구가 됩니다. 소스 옵션에는 네트워크 하드도 선택할 수 있습니다. 편하네요.
[단점 한가지] 파티션이 작아지면 복구를 못합니다. 처음 30기가 하드에서 3기가만 사용했다고 합시다. 27기가나 남아도는 용량을 잘 활용하기 위해서, 이걸 10기가 파티션에서 복구하려고 하면 30기가 용량이 필요하다면서 거부를 하네요.
[마치며] 무료면서, 외장하드 인식도 매우 잘 되고 안정적입니다. 혹시 고스트를 암흑의 통로로 사용하시던 분이나, 구형 고스트2003을 사용하다가 저처럼 친구컴의 SATA방식 하드를 인식 못 시키고 날려버린 적이 있으신 분들은 필히 바꾸시기 바랍니다.
수년전에 컴퓨터 회선이 느렸을 때 애용하던 플래쉬겟 (Flash get). 한 주소의 파일을 분할해서 다운받기 때문에 최소 5배 이상의 속도가 나오는 특징이 있었지만, 요즘 한국엔 인터넷 회선도 많이 빨라져서 이전과 같은 필요성을 느끼지는 못했었다. 그러다 외국에 나와서 살면서 그저그런 수년전으로 돌아간 인터넷 속도에서 다시 빛을 발하게 되었다.
한동안 놋북에서 자동업데이트를 꺼놓고 있다보니 XP가 서비스팩 3까지 나온줄 몰랐다. 그래서 토요일이고 해서 다운받으로 해보니, 30분이 넘게 걸리는 것이다.
실제로 30분이 걸렸지만 심적으로 정말 12시간 50분이 걸린 것 같았다.
그러다가 기억을 되쇄겨서 플래쉬겟을 설치했다. 파이어폭스에서는 Flashgot이라는 애드온도 있어서 다운받을 때 쉽게 플래쉬겟으로 받을 수 있게 해준다. 플래쉬겟 설치후 위에서 심적으로 12시간이 넘게 걸렸던 파일을 다운받으려 하면 아래와 같은 창이 우선하나뜬다. 별 설정없이 엔터!
엔터!
그 뒤로 2분 조금 넘게 걸려 다운이 완료되었다. 실제 파일 크기는 300메가가 넘었었다.
2분23초만에 315 메가 다운 완료!
Flashget 이 2.0으로 오면서 무엇이 바뀌었나는 잘 모르겠지만, 이전과 변함없이 안정적이다. 단 하나 주의할 것은 설치중에 구글툴바를 끼어서 같이 설치하려고 하는데, 조심하면서 스킵하는 것을 잊지 않도록 하자.
제 컴만 해도 첫 부팅 때, 백신, 스카이프, 매크로, 네이트온, 놋북전용어플세트, 스카이프 USB 보조 어플, 핫싱크, 구글 데스크탑, 메일수신알림이 등등이 로그인과 동시에 켜집니다. 그러다 보니 첫 1,2 분 동안은 컴퓨터가 먹통이 된 것 처럼 멈춰있죠.
그런데 각각 어플을 순차적으로 켜 준다면 어플당 5초 내외로 아주 빨리 구동을 시킬 수 있습니다. 로그인 후에 1, 2분 안에 급히 할 일은 대부분 위의 어플들이 아니라 파일 탐색하기 파폭켜기 등이기 때문에 '어플들을 시간차를 두고 구동시킬 수는 없을까?'라는 생각을 하게 되죠.
이를 위해 나온 보조 어플이 또 있습니다. 스타트업 딜레이라는 어플로 이름을 보면 부팅을 오래하게 해주는 것 같이 느껴질 수 있겠지만, 당장 불필요한 어플들은 순차적으로 구동을 시켜서 부팅 순간에 컴퓨터가 먹통되는 일을 많이 감소시켜줍니다.
프리웨어이며 사용법이 어렵지는 않으나 차분하게 사용법을 설명하신 분의 사용법 해설 블로그를 하나 살펴보시면 쉽게 따라 할 수 있습니다. 프로그램은 아래의 링크에서 다운 받으세요.
가장 첨단을 달린다는 구글 칼랜더에 요즘 손을 대고 있습니다. 앞으로 모든 언어가 써지는 iPhone으로 갈아탈 것 같기도 하고 미리 극악의 타임존 설정에 익숙해져 놓으려합니다.
기존의 종이 수첩의 경우는 내가 어디를 가나 몇시에 누구를 만난다면 그렇게 써 놓으면 됩니다. 한국에서 유럽으로 와도 지난달 한국에서 친구랑 점심먹은 것은 여전히 오후 12시로 남아있죠. (팜데스크탑이 아닌) 팜본체의 경우도 이렇게 종이 스타일입니다. 타임존 변경이 일정에 영향을 주지 않습니다.
문제는 종이수첩이나 팜본체 이외의 도구에서 외국출장에 따른 일정 꼬임이 발생하는 것입니다. 한국에서 점심때 만나게 밥을 먹고 헬싱키로 왔다고 합시다. 이제 타임존을 한국에서 헬싱키로 옮기면. 내가 지난달에 한국에서 먹은 점심은 새벽6시에 먹은 게 됩니다.
최첨단을 달린다는 구글일정, 아웃룩, 팜데스크탑에서 왜 이렇게 복잡하게 해 놓았을 까요? 그냥 종이 수첩처럼 점심은 새벽6시가 아니라 점심시간에 먹게 해주면 안되는 걸까요? 누차 말하지만, 내가 한국에서 들은 김기덕의 2시의 데이트는 아침 8시가 아니라 오후 2시에 들은 것으로 남겨놓고 싶습니다.
이런 생각을 하면서 팜이나, 구글에서 왜 일정의 제목을 쓰는 란 밑에 "장소(location)"이 있는 지 알았습니다. 기본 타임존을 6시간 느리게 바꾸어 놓아서 점심을 아침 6시에 먹었다면, 장소에 써 있는 "한국" 이라는 위치를 보고 덧셈뺄샘을 해서 ...
"아... 일정에는 지금 새벽6시라고 써 있지만, 내가 바꾸어 놓은 헬싱키 타임존에서는 지금 썸머 타임이 적용되어 있을 때 한국하고는 시차가 6시간 차이가 나니까, 내가 한달전에 친구랑 한국에서 먹은 점심은 아침 6시에 먹은게 아니라 당시 오후 12시에 먹은게 되구나!"
이렇게 복잡하게 생각해야 합니다. (ㅠ_ㅠ) 그리고 아웃룩에서 타임존에 따른 일정의 시간 이동이 된다면, 하루종일 일정이 자정을 걸쳐 전일, 후일로 나뉘게 되니, 일정이 한개가 아니라 2개로 쪼개지게 됩니다. 이 문제에 대한 MS의 공식 답변은 "해결불가"입니다.
그렇다면, 만약 놋북의 타임존을 안 바꾸고 그냥 틀린 타임존과 틀린 현재시각의 조합으로 그 지역의 시각과 일치하게 쓰는 방법은 어떨까요? 한동안 이걸로 잘 되는 줄 알았습니다. 그러나 또 새롭게 알아낸 문제는 썬더보드와 같이 국제적으로 노는 소프트웨어들은 타국에서 이메일의 발송 시간과 현재 설정된 타임존만으로 메일이 도착된 시간을 표시합니다. 즉, 틀린 현재시각에서는 틀린 도착시간이 나올 수 밖에 없지요. 또 답장하는 메일의 경우 현재 컴퓨터의 시각을 따르기 때문에 메일을 한국에서 받아서 헬싱키에서 답장을 하면 주고 받은 시간 순서가 역으로 됩니다. 그래서 울며 겨자먹기로 타임존 변경을 하게됩니다. -_-;
마지막으로 정리하자면, 종이로 일정을 관리하면 출장을 많이 가도 걱정할게 없습니다. 단! PDA나 놋북을 사용할 때 이쪽저쪽 걸쳐서 다니게 되면 항상 일정 입력시에는 그 장소의 시차를 계산해서 넣어줘야 하고, 해당 지역에서는 제 시간에 일정이 잘 보입니다만, 다시 귀국 했을 때 너무나도 엉뚱한 시간으로 돌아갑니다. 만약에 당시 있던 장소가 기억에 안 난다면 그 일정이 발생한 정확한 시각은 모르게 되지요.
이렇게 불편한 "타임존에 따른 자동 일정시간 변경"이라는 기능을 왜 구글일정과 아웃룩, 팜데스크탑에서는 자동으로 설정되어있는 걸까요? 혹시 타임존 변경과 일정 꼬임 현상을 명쾌하게 해결하신 분 있나요?
I decided not to use Xubuntu, because it was still too inconvenient (e.g., folder sharing with XP). After couple of installations, the original Ubuntu is also light and smoothly-performing enough on this legacy machine.
INSTALL
TravelMate 630 has a problem with the kernel parameter, " acpi=off " "nohz=off". You should set this for your installation, or you will need to use "alternative" CD that takes 10 times longer than the LIVE CD.
After installation, the option should be added as default in the kernel parameter, by editing grub configure file below: $sudo nano /boot/grub/menu.lst

You install the firefox plugin ( install_flash_player_10_linux.deb ) from ADOBE website. And, the command below activates this plugin.
Other than the two issues, everything seems to work fine since.
LET UBUNTU FIND YOUR XP HOST
When you try to mount your XP folder by sambar, you mostly use the hostname not dynamic IP address. Let's Ubuntu to recognize the XP hostname instead of its IP.
By default, your Ubuntu machine cannot find the hostname.
$ ping XPHOST ping: unknown host XPHOST
First revise this configure. $ sudo nano /etc/nsswitch.conf
Add "wins" on the line that starts with "hosts". hosts: files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns mdns4 wins
Your second ping will surely give you the exact information. $ ping XPHOST PING XPHOST (192.168.123.185) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from 192.168.123.185: icmp_seq=1 ttl=128 time=1.11 ms
Now, you can use Remote Sever Client with the hostname of XP. You don't need to worry about the change in its IP address. $rdesktop XPHOST
CHRONIC BUGS
The VGA card (nVidia GeForce2 go) ends up with black screen, while the gnome itself seems working fine. I could hear the normal boot sound. Every of my attempts, installing other version of drivers, downloading from the nVidia official website, and installing from "envy", has not succeeded. At last, I gave up after the sleepless nights.
After setting the vga device as "nv" in /etc/X11/xorg.conf , movies seem workings without dropping many frames.
Couple of variables is prepared beforehand. Change them as you like. For making the 7z file, I use another batch file which is similar to this example.
단, 당연한 이야기지만, 아래의 두개 변수는 개인 사용자에 맡게 바꾸어야 한다.

Now, you can assign this batch file, “Autobackup.bat”, in one of your favorite schedule program. Task scheduler in Windows could be an example software. I personally prefer to use other macro software such as “Macro Express 2000”. That is because you unfortunately have another step after executing the batch file; you have to push the [Ctrl] + [Enter] buttons to send the email. Strictly speaking, this batch file can only provide you half-automatic backup system.
The batch script will open Thunderbird which waits your final decision of "sending".
마지막 한가지, 아쉽게도 위의 스크립트를 실행시키면 위와 같이 최후의 결정을 기다리는 창이 나온다. 이때 "Send" 버튼을 수동으로 눌러줘야 한다. 그렇다!! 이 스크립트는 50% 만 자동인 백업 스크립트인 것이다.

When I had frequent appointments of making phone call to Korea and Japan during the trips, my Zire 21 has mixed schedule in Calendar the Helsinki time and the local time (1 hour faster).
해외 출장이 잦았는데 시착 1시간 차이날 때 마다 팜에 있는 일정이 전부 오류가 나왔다. 예를 들어 "정오에 점심 약속" 이라고 써 놓아도 노트북 시간을 변경하면 12시가 아닌 오전 11시로 시간이 틀어졌다.
When I change my laptop time, the entire schedule which was made beforehand indicates wrong time, e.g., “(11 am) Lunch at noon”. As you know the noon indicates 12 pm, not 11 am. If it is important to know when I have the Finnish lunch in Germany, I would keep the wrong time schedule. But, we do not care such strange schedule, in general!
Here comes what I have found since.

가장 심각한 것은 중간 휴식이 있는 반복 일정이 막무가내로 변경된다는 점이다. 이건 도저히 용납할 수 없었다.

[Solution]
Before departure, set your schedule according to the local time. For example, if you do a weekly meeting on Skype (4PM, GMT+2) with Japan (11PM, GMT+9), you need to set the schedule according to the local time of trip (3PM, GMT+1). During your flight, I recommend you to follow the instruction for not getting in trouble with your schedule.
Do Hotsync in normal mode.
After arrival, change your local time both in your PC and palm device. You would see the massed time in Calendar.
Do Hotsync under “Handheld overwrites Desktop”.
When you go back home, do the process in reverse.
해결 방법은 간단하게 팜기기나오는 데이터를 팜데스크탑에 덮어 쓰면 된다. 별로 탐탁치 않지만, 그나마 가장 나은 방법이다.
[Conclusion]
Through my little examination, I concluded that the Palm device (Zire 21) never fails to show the correct schedule and time on calendar regardless of local time, while Palm desktop masses up Calendar. Because calendar helps you to remind when and where to meet people in the area where you are now, I suggest you not to expect Palm to change time of each schedule automatically. Rely on your little device. Overwrite Calendar from the device to desktop.
예나 지금이나 컴퓨터들은 공장 출시부터 설치되어지는 다양한 악세사리 어플들과 안쓰는 드라이브 프로세스들이 누적이 되면서 어마어마한 속도 저하가 발생한다. 민기의 놋북도 최근 느려터진 속도에 업그레이드를 하려 하다가, 구글링을 통해 얻은 지식으로 프로세스를 정리하고 많은 속도 향상이 있었다. 3년된 놋북에 2년된 40기가 하드를 달고 윈도우를 밀은지 반년이 넘어가지만 프로세스 정리를 통해서 현재 하이버네이션 들어가기 10초 나오기 13초가 걸린다. 전엔 거의 1분쯤 거렸던 것에 비해서 눈부신 향상이다.
이를 위해서 크게 3가지 작업이 필요하다. 1. Process Explorer라는 어플을 통해 어떤 프로세스를 멈출 것인가 선택 2. Stop Services.bat 라는 스크립트를 제작 3. Kill Process.vbs 라는 스크립트 제작
이후에 일반적인 놋북을 사용하다 빠른 속도가 필요할 때 2, 3번에 제작된 파일을 한번씩 실행시켜 주면 속도가 크게 향상된다. 이제부터 하나씩 알아보자.
그림에서 다양한 프로세스들이 작동되고 있음이 보인다. 또한 이를 트리구조로 표현해주고 있다. 이제 하나하나 내가 없애야 할 서비스와 일반 프로세스를 찾아주면 된다. 이 과정이 조금 복잡해보이지만, 우선 쉽게는 Microsoft 회사에서 제작되지 않은 프로세스나 어플들 위주로 선택해주면 된다. 잘 모를 경우 Search Online (Ctrl+M) 기능으로 바로 웹에서 정보를 찾아준다. 이를 통해 불필요한 서비스(프로세스)인지를 판가름할 수 있다.
자신이 멈추고 싶은 프로세스들을 잘 적어 놓자. 서비스의 경우 서비스 텝에서 서비스명을 적어놓고 일반 exe프로그램의 경우 그 프로그램 이름을 잘 적어놓자.
2. Stop Services.bat
대부분의 프로세스들은 .exe로 시작되지만 특별하게 규칙적으로 관리되어야 하는 것들은 윈도우에서 따로 service 로 특별(?)관리 해주기 때문에 끄고 켜기가 쉽다. 위의 파일명으로 빈 텍스트 파일을 만들어서 net stop 프로세스명 의 형태로 자신이 끄고 싶은 한줄씩 써 놓자.
3. Kill Process.vbs
이 파일은 윈도우 서비스에서 관리해주고 있지는 않지만 멈추고 싶은 어플들을 꺼주는 스크립트이다. 마찬가지로 빈 파일을 만들고 아래의 코드를 붙여 넣자.

위 코드에서 두번째 세번째 문단은 반복되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 첫줄의 exe 프로그램명 부분에 큰따옴표, 작은따옴표를 유의해서 멈추어야할 프로세스들을 적어주면 된다. 나의 경우 위의 코드를 반복해서 30개 정도의 .exe 프로세스를 멈추고 있다.
실행시키기
이제 모든 준비과정은 끝났고 이제 자기 컴퓨터에서 위의 두개 스크립트를 실행시켜주면 된다. 참고로 본 필자인 민기의 컴퓨터 사양은 다음과 같다.

속도 향상은 두드러 졌으며 그 버벅거림의 대명사인 구글 데스크탑과 메크로 프로그램 한개를 돌리면서도 하이버네이션 들어가기 10초 나오기 13초라는 경이로운 속도를 보여줬다. 윈도우 밀어본지도 반년이 지난 상태이다.
조금이라도 더 속도 향상을 꾀하고 싶으신분은 관리도구에서 서비스 항목에 들어간 후에 아래 민기의 컴퓨터에서 나타나고 있는 서비스 목록만 남기고 나머지들은 모두 스크립트 2번에 집어 넣을 수도 있다. 아래에서 보듯이 현재 20개의 서비스만 돌아가고 있다. Task Scheduler 나 Wireless Zero Configuration 등을 더 멈출 수도 있겠지만 이는 사용자에 따라 다르겠다.

속도 향상이 두드러짐에도 이 방법이 널리 사용되지 않는 이유는 잘못된 프로세스를 건드렸을 때 재부팅을 감수해야 하는 것과 컴퓨터마다 설치된 하드웨어, 소프트웨어들이 다르기 때문에 동일한 속도향상 스크립트는 있을 수 없기 때문인것 같다. 본 컴퓨터의 경우 웹카메라, 터치패드 어플, 스타일러스팬 어플 등등을 정지시키고 크게 속도향상이 있었다.
컴터의 느려진 속도로 업글을 생각하고 있는 사람이 있다면 조금 더 참을성을 갖고 프로세스 관리를 통해 공짜 업글의 효과를 보는 것이 어떨까요??
에러 발생시??
윈도우 처음부터 실행하라고 있던 프로세스들을 하나둘 멈추다 보면 분명 에러가 발생하기 마련이다. 따라서 프로세스를 완전히 삭제하거나 하지 말고 꼭 스크립트로 만들어서 정상 부팅후에 실해시키길 바란다. 스크립트 적용후에 에러(대부분 윈도우 1분안에 재부팅)이 나타난다면 재부팅후 그 스크립트를 수정해주면 된다.

누차 말하지만 최적화된 스크립트는 컴퓨터마다 다르다. 필자가 글을 잘 못쓴 탓도 있고 시도해보다 안되는 사람들이 분명 발생할것 같아서 민기의 컴퓨터에서 써던 스크립트 파일 2개를 공개하겠습니다. 이것으로도 어느정도 효과를 볼 것이라 생각됩니다. 다만 최적화를 위해서는 처음부터 선별작업을 거쳐야 합니다.

How Foxit Reader previews PDF thumbnail on Windows Explorer
Foxit Reader 2.2 ( http://www.foxitsoftware.com ) is a very fascinating PDF viewer which is small (5.5 Mbyte), requires no installation (a file works), and provides full commenting features (e.g. Highlight Tool and Note Tool). Although it requires small amount of price for its full operation, its rival software Adobe Reader cannot overwhelm Foxit’s efficiency and lightness; Adobe Reader requires more than 200 Mbyte installation size without any commenting features.
However, one main feature that is missing with Foxit Reader 2.2 is the thumbnail previewing on Windows File Explorer. Many users have been requesting the company to implant the most essential feature which is working with Adobe Reader 8; however, nobody knows when.

Here is my tip to activate the thumbnail preview feature from Adobe Reader 8, while fully commenting and reviewing PDF files from Foxit Reader 2.2.
Install Foxit Reader 2.2 (download from http://www.foxitsoftware.com , shareware). You will only have Foxit reader icons not thumbnails on Explorer, but can comment the files.
Install Adobe Reader 8 (download from http://adobe.com , freeware). You will then see PDF thumbnails on Explorer, but cannot comment the files.
Go to Windows Start > Run > regedit.exe .
On the Regedit, find the full address of your “foxit reader.exe” with the keyword of “foxit”. For example, mine is as below: "D:\TOBACK~1\FOXITR~1\FOXITR~1.EXE" "%1"<= ADDRESS1
Then, find the full address of your “AcroRd32.exe”. Typically that is as below: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" "%1" <= ADDRESS2
Replace every ADDRESS2 by ADDRESS1.
Do not touch any other codes which are slightly different from ADDRESS2, e.g. “%1” also should match.
With the tip, you will preview all of your pdf files right on Explorer with help of Adobe Reader 8, and comment them with Foxit Rader by simply double-clicking there.
1. Install both Adobe Reader and Foxit Reader.
2. Launch Regedit.exe and navigate to the following key: “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FoxitReader.Document”.
3. Right-click on “FoxitReader.Document” and choose to create a new key, calling it “Shellex”.
4. Create a new key below that one and name it “{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}”.
5. Double-click on the (Default) value in the right-hand pane and enter in the following: “{F9DB5320-233E-11D1-9F84-707F02C10627}”.
6. Logoff and login back for the change to take effect.
비씨 카드를 사용하는 사람들을 위한 서비스로 @bcline.com 이라는 메일 주소를나누어 줬던 것이 몇년전. 꾸준히 사용해 왔었는데 언제부터인가 smtp 서비스가 없어지고 지난 달 부터는 pop3 서비스도 중지시켜 버렸다. 그리고는 2달 미사용은 정지, 6개월 미사용은 개정 삭제라는 무서운 카드를 들고 나왔다.
역시 무료 서비스는 믿을 것이 못된다. 아울러 몇년안에 이렇게 끝내버릴 서비스면서 처음에는 엄청 생생 내면서 시작했던 카드사가 이제와서 말 바꾸어 놓고 사과의 말 한마디 없는 것이 너무 얄밉다. 때에 따라서는 이랬다 저랬다 쉽게도 바꾸는 비씨 카드에 신뢰도가 떨어지는 것은 당연하다.

First, open your troublesome locked PDF file with Foxit Reader. With your Microsoft Office software installed, you will see a virtual printer named "Microsoft Office Documents Imaging". Print out your PDF from Foxit Reader by the virtual printer. You will be asked to enter file name. Now you have unlocked electric document where you can comment freely. However, since we use PDF as our main ebook reader, please, keep go on.
Second, open your document file which is now extended with Microsoft Office Documents Imaging. Then, print it again by another virtual printer named "CutePDF" into the UNlocked PDF file!!!

군데군데 글씨 안 보이는 것이 나타날 수 있으나 대체로 만족스러운 수준으로 결과가 나옵니다.
Mac OS 에 따라오는 몇몇 유틸리티중에
컬러싱크라는 유틸리티가 있습니다.
원래는 여기 저기 쓰이는 컬러싱크용 파일을 만들고
조작하는 유틸리티입니다만,
이넘이 어찌된 일인지 피디에프를 열수가 있습니다.
이걸로 패스워드가 걸린 피디에프를 열었다가 다시 저장을 하면
모든 패스워드가 없어진답니다.
우분투 깔 때 인스톨 화면에서 영어를 선택해 버리니 추가 언어 설정이 안 되었다. 아마 영어 전용 컴퓨터가 되어 버려서 용량 문제로 쓸 대 없는 파일들을 제외했기 때문인것 같다. 이를 해결하려고 꽤나 고생했어서 아래에 적어 놓았다. 언어 팩이 적절히 설치된 이후에도 SCIM을 쓰다보면 특정 어플에서는 실행이 안되는데 이 역시 파일 하나를 열어서 기본 입력기로 설정을 해줘야 한다. 아래 설명대로만 따라하면 크게 어려움 없으니 모두 화이팅! http://mewmew.tistory.com/267 를 참고 했다.
I was happy to meet the new version of Ubunto. But soon get irritated to see Korean and Japanese are not working properly. That is partly because I chose ENGLISH as a default installing languge. So, please do not forget to INSTALL your ubuntu not with ENGLISH when you are multilingual. The problem number 2 is that SCIM does not work on every applications.
Here are my tips how to do them all.
1. Please add mirror sever list below:

4. Even you have finished installing the two additional packs, SCIM does not work on every applications. You need to set SCIM as a default input method.

A table copied from MS Word into MS Power Point sometimes make problem
with its indent, which mean the starting points of rows are not
identical as shown below. I had no clear solution. This has been bugging me since I first used Power Point 10 years ago.
워드에서 복사한 표를 파워 포인트에 넣으면 문단의 줄이 삐뚤빼뚤하게 나오는 경우가 종종생긴다. 파워포인트를 쓰기 시작하고 어언 10년간 이 문제를 해결 못했었는데 친구의 도움으로 해결하였다.
Go to menu [View] > [Ruler]. Check [Ruler] to appear on Power Point. When you place your cursor on the ugly paragraph that contains indented / collapsed rows, the ruler shows you that the upper and lower row sliders are placed in different position. Adjust them identical!
